Hi!
Thanks for joining me in this fight! Like me, I'm sure you know too many people living in the shadow of breast cancer: mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, neighbors...once you start counting, it's shocking. In my case, my amazing sister, Rhonda, was diagnosed with both invasive ductile and inflammatory breast cancers almost exactly a year ago. She underwent massive chemotherapy and a complete mastectomy and today is living her life with gusto! She is enormously grateful to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and to all the people who have helped raise millions of dollars over the past thirty or so years to fund early detection, research into the causes of the disease and various treatments, and the steady stream of information and support she got from folks at Komen. I share in that gratitude.
Please: give us generously as you can! If you have given previously, consider doubling that amount. Or: consider doubling the amount you logged on thinking you were prepared to give. Make it a hurt--just a little. It will feel better afterward!
If you live in the Chicago area, I invite you to join my friend, Jenny Kaufman (a wonderful, wonderful yoga person as well as one of the nicest people I know!), for an evening of yoga, meditation, wine, dessert, and more at 5:30 on Sunday, September 27 at Yogaview's Wilmette Studio (1231 Green Bay Road, Wilmette). $35 minimum suggested donation--but, please, be as generous as possible!!
With gratitude,
Lane
